Obama speaks well, have you heard?

I enjoyed this speech.

  1. I have to say that this is probably an historic moment, something that will be referenced twenty to thirty years from now.

The other two seem so petty now, don’t they? Clinton running aorund Michigan begging for a revote; McCain in Iraq pretending he’s supporting the troops (how does McCain even sell his canidacy to the troops? “If you vote for me, i’ll make sure you are here in five years.. hell I’ll try to makes sure Iraq is a place for your kids to work, too!”)

  2. I don’t think the American public knows all the details involved in the Middle East. To say, “hey our guys are dying, lets bring them all home now.” is, in my opinion, rather nieve. If a study came out and said by keeping our troops there saves 100 lives but one person will die. Is it worth keeping them there? Would you want to make that decision? Could you make that decision? I try to give the leaders a bit more credit than the normal posters to this website. The media is built on scare tactics. If you disagree, turn on the news and count the stories yourselves. How many crimes are reported? How many “this person helped the community” reports? The difference will show you they don’t care about the good.

I guess my point is just think about where your opinion stems from. If the media is behind it you might want to check the other side of the story too.

  3. I am not as much influenced by the media as the man. I’m not 100% on his Iraq policies to be honest, but I’m with Obama on many of the other concerns this nation has.

  4. Superman, I will just say that your description of my feelings on Iraq are incorrect. I do not think that at all!

To clarify: McCain’s Disney Land tour of Iraq is the equivalent of him appearing on Saturday Night Live.

What I want to focus on is how excellent a speech Obama gave.

  5. This has made me uncomfortable. I feel accused of fuzzy thinking by that comment, Superman. Is that what you mean to say?

Regardless of political affiliation, I believe that speech has merit.
