Dostoevsky is funny.
“You’re a gentleman,” they used to say to him. “You shouldn’t have gone murdering people with a hatchet; that’s no occupation for a gentleman.”

Oh, I don’t know about that. Just look at OJ…

I think Robert Blake is the new, more topical murderous celebrity. I’ll have to consult Leno’s writers, but… ;)

You may be right. I’ll have to consult The Daily Show’s writers for a scoring decision. Until then, we’ll just leave the yellow flag on the field and the bloody glove in Johnnie Cochran’s dresser drawer. ;)

When I read “Johnnie Cochran” I saw “Johnnie Crichton.” You can tell where my mind is… miniseries…

You force me to defend myself. I would not actually speak to Leno’s writers to request they clean the lint from my navel. But OJ jokes are still funny to them. I think if we were to pow-wow with the Daily Show writers, we would both be considered extremely lame.

The daily show writers would pee on us and make us scrub the floor after. I am not worthy to be in the same room as such brilliance.
Ah, Miniseries… hopefully to lead into more episodes… and leaving me wondering certain things which I will not say here in case people have not seen it yet. :)

I sincerely hope they don’t cheapen that 3.5 hour ending with more episodes. But then, I’m not like most Sci-Fi fans.

We’re pretty rabid, to be sure. It’s at a good place, where it could go forward or not go forward, depending on audience response. Me, I’d be up for many more years of that delicious programming. I bet your MHG is in the same boat, but I don’t want to put words in her mouth.

No, I’m pretty sure she agrees that adding anything else to the storyline of those people would would seem contrived, unnecessary and unrealistic. But most TV viewers just want more of the same, not a story arc that’s genuine and full. Same with readers of fantasy/sci-fi and almost every role-player I know. MORE LEVELS, MORE BIG BATTLES, MORE BRINGING PEOPLE BACK FROM THE DEAD BECAUSE WE LIKE THEM. It’s kind of soap opera/comic book mentality and I am really frustrated that people can’t just leave a great story alone.

I would never turn down a chance for new Farscape, but I agree the certain storylines are best if ended here. I was thinking maybe they could go the route of Star Trek, create a new storyline of new characters in the same sci fi universe. With such a galactic political change, if leaves many opportunities for stories.

I don’t want Farscape to go the route of B5 and Buffy. Both went further than they should have. B5 was written for three seasons, and when it went two more because of fan prompting, it was lame like a dog that needed to be put under. Same with Buffy. She was supposed to die after 5th season. End of story. But when fans wanted more, Joss used her friends as a model for the fan base, bringing Buffy back out of selfishness, back to a harsh world that she resented after her truly heroic end.

True, but Farscape was written with another entire year in mind, they had been renewed for two new seasons and were cancelled after only one. Although I agree, we need to move to a different story arc now…
There’s a fine line between too much and not enough, in any given show. I could have happily watched many more years of Sliders, for instance. They switched up the characters and kept it fresh and interesting.
